The new 992 Porsche 911 GT3 has been kicked even further into the “motorsport” arena, brilliant at the limit but harsh and abusive when being used every day. But the new 911 GTS isn’t for pretending you’re a racing driver: it’s the most optimized 911 for engaged, fast, and fun street driving, without the harshness of the GT3. On the press launch in Atlanta, I drove the new 992 Carrera GTS for eight hours and almost three hundred miles, and finished the drive relaxed and refreshed, just how I’d want a 911 to be. And the performance, friends, is certainly there.
