Gunther Werks, headquartered in Huntington Beach, California, was established by Peter Nam, CEO of the carbon-fiber parts manufacturer Vorsteiner, with the goal of reimagining Porsche’s 993-series 911s in the spirit of the later GT3 models.
The transformation of each vehicle begins with stripping it down to its steel unibody, which is seam-welded and then fitted with custom carbon-fiber body panels. These panels include a solid roof, widened front and rear fenders, bumpers, side skirts, and front and rear hoods, creating a modern yet classic look.
The Gunther Werks 400R, which debuted in 2017, features a bespoke wing and special carbon fiber bodywork, with extended fenders accommodating larger tires. These are necessary for the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-6 engine built by Rothsport Racing, which produces 400 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque, revving up to 7,800 rpm. A custom six-speed manual transmission by Getrag is designed specifically for the 400R.
Only 25 Gunther Werks 400Rs were produced, with the “Bianco Rosso Commission” being a standout. It features a pearlescent white and red color scheme, Fuchs-inspired wheels, and Brembo brakes, paying tribute to classic 911s while maintaining a contemporary appearance.
The interior is a luxurious mix of carbon fiber, red Alcantara, and black leather, with carbon fiber bucket seats providing excellent support. The 4.0-liter Rothsport engine is coupled with a custom Getrag G50 6-speed transaxle, and the suspension is expertly tuned with KW Clubsport coilovers.
Now available for sale on ISSIMI, the Bianco Rosso Commission, with just 2048 miles on the odometer, is a rare and highly sought-after example of Gunther Werks’ craftsmanship.
