Porsche is a name that’s practically synonymous with high-performance engineering, seamlessly blending luxury with speed in a way few brands can rival. The 911 Turbo S has long been a cornerstone of Porsche’s lineup, celebrated for its jaw-dropping acceleration and its ability to double as a daily driver. Meanwhile, the Taycan represents a bold step into the electric future, pairing cutting-edge tech with the unmistakable Porsche driving experience.
But what happens when these two engineering marvels go head-to-head in a drag race? And what if you throw a heavily tuned 911 Turbo S into the mix? The Porsche 911 Turbo S, Taycan Turbo GT, and a tuned 911 Turbo S faced off in a quarter-mile drag race organized by carwow.
The stock Porsche 911 Turbo S features a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 650 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. It has an all-wheel drive, an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, and launch control. The Taycan Turbo GT is the heaviest of the three but makes up for it with its dual electric motors delivering 1,034 horsepower and 1,240 Nm of torque. The tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S, pushes the limits with modifications, boosting it to 1,100 horsepower and 1,285 Nm of torque.
