Track Battle: Taycan Turbo GT vs. GT4 RS

The new Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful road-going Porsche ever made. It has a 1,019-horsepower powertrain that when equipped with the Weissach package, the Taycan Turbo GT can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 mph. The dual motors transmit all that power through a two-speed direct-drive transmission to all four wheels.

On the other hand, the GT4 RS is a track-oriented model that features the same engine found in the 911 GT3, though it is slightly detuned to deliver 493 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. In contrast, the 911 GT3’s flat-six engine produces 502 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque. Positioned in the rear, this engine sends its power through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the rear wheels.

Sport Auto, a German automotive magazine, took both of these impressive Porsches to the Hockenheimring to see which could complete a hot lap faster. The video provides a thrilling POV from inside these magnificent machines as test driver Christian Gebhardt pushes them to their limits. Watch the video to find out which Porsche came out on top!
