The 991, introduced in 2011, marked a significant evolution of the iconic 911. It was wider and longer than its predecessor but retained the classic 911 design. Key improvements included a longer wheelbase and a rear-mounted engine for better handling. Both manual and dual-clutch automatic transmissions were offered.
The 991 generation produced several special models. The 911 R, a lightweight, manual-only version sharing components with the GT3 RS, is particularly noteworthy. Another standout is the limited-edition 911 Speedster, visually inspired by the GT3 and produced in honor of Porsche’s founding year.
Three Porsche 911s from the 911-generation are currently up for sale on Bring A Trailer all of which are finished in GT Silver Metallic and incredibly low mileage.
