It’s not often that you see a 918 Spyder goes up for sale and as luck would have it, RM Sotheby’s will be offering one of the most sought-after supercars to roll out of Stuttgart in an auction that will kick off this week on January 25.
Introduced in 2015, the limited-edition 918 Spyder combined aesthetics and power seamlessly, following the success of its predecessors, the 959 and Carrera GT. The meticulously engineered hypercar boasts a 4.6-liter V-8, generating 887 hp and 944 ft lbs of torque, propelling it to speeds of up to 214 mph and achieving 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.As its name suggests, only 918 Spyders were built in 2015.
The 918 Spyder in question is here is an extravagantly tailored example, making it especially coveted among Porsche collectors. Serial number 834, delivered in August 2015 through Pepe Porsche of White Plains, New York (now Porsche Larchmont), boasts a one-of-a-kind configuration.
The White (LC9A) exterior with a matching roof panel complements the custom Bianco Leda and Garnet Red leather interior. Custom-tailored to the original owner’s preferences, the cabin features Garnet Red piping on carbon-fiber bucket seats, creating an aesthetically pleasing contrast mirrored on the door cards and dashboard. The carbon-fiber interior package enhances the envy-inducing cockpit.
Factory-equipped for daily convenience, the car includes a front-axle lift system for navigating obstacles, HomeLink for garage entry ease, and a 25-foot extended cable for the 6.8-kilowatt-hour battery. With a mere 2,095 miles and believed to have had only three owners, this 918 Spyder, featuring professionally applied paint protection film, remains in impeccable condition.
