The RUF CTR Anniversary Takes on the Autobahn

Known as a tribute to the legendary “Yellow Bird” of the 1980s, the RUF CTR Anniversary is a celebration of RUF’s storied legacy, wrapped in carbon fiber and powered by an in-house marvel of engineering.

At first glance, the CTR Anniversary may resemble a Porsche 964, but it’s anything but. RUF is a fully-fledged manufacturer, crafting nearly every component of this car in-house. Its carbon fiber monocoque chassis is not only a feat of engineering but also a work of art, ensuring the car remains incredibly lightweight at just 1,250 kilograms. Complementing this chassis are custom-made carbon fiber body panels seamlessly integrated into the design.

At its heart lies a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, entirely developed by RUF. While it mimics the aesthetic of the air-cooled engines from the past, it’s a liquid-cooled powerhouse delivering an astonishing 710 horsepower and 880 Nm of torque. Combined with the car’s featherweight design, the performance figures are jaw-dropping: 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 360 km/h.

It’s not often that you get to drive this bespoke sports car, considering its price and a limited production of just 50 units. But, the folks from AutoTopNL were about to get behind the wheel in one of them and give us some insights on how it performs when pushed to the limits on Autobahn.
