So let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Porsche, it’s packing a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet that can produce 640hp and 850Nm of torque. It drives all four wheels, and it tips the scales at 2,220kg. As for the R8, it’s powered by a glorious 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that’s good for 570hp and 550Nm. It’s a whole lot lighter than the Porsche, though, weighing in at 1,590kg. So the R8 is down on power, but will the massive weight difference prove decisive?
