In June 2017, Porsche introduced the 991 GT2 RS at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This iteration of the GT2 RS features a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine generating 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful production 911 to date.
The 991 GT2 RS stands out from its predecessors with its seven-speed PDK transmission, and Porsche claims it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 211 mph. A limited production of 1,000 units was planned.
The GT2 RS incorporates a magnesium roof, carbon-fiber front and rear wings, and a carbon-fiber bonnet and boot lid. The use of lightweight polyurethane for the front and rear aprons, polycarbonate for the rear and side windows, and a titanium exhaust system contribute to a claimed wet weight of 3,241 lbs.
The 2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS shown here is #91 of 200 track-only Clubsport models for that year, designed to meet FIA regulations. It features 18” BBS forged wheels, carbon-fiber front dive planes, bi-xenon headlights, an adjustable rear wing, and a roll cage.
The car’s power comes from a twin-turbo 3.8L flat-six engine paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic and a limited-slip differential. Its body panels are finished in white with a custom vinyl livery, while the interior features a black cloth Recaro race seat with a Schroth Racing six-point harness.
