Shelsley Walsh, the oldest motorsport venue in the world still on its original course, recently witnessed a new record. A Porsche Taycan Turbo S Sport Turismo, piloted by Dan Prosser, smashed the existing record for estate cars.
The record, previously held by an Audi RS6 with a time of 32.41 seconds, was shattered by the Taycan with a blistering run of 31.43 seconds. This accomplishment is even more impressive considering the Taycan used for the record attempt wasn’t the latest model, putting it at a slight horsepower disadvantage.
The record-breaking run wasn’t just a win for the Taycan; it also secured the title of fastest electric car and fastest road car on race day at Shelsley Walsh. This accomplishment highlights the growing capabilities of electric vehicles and their potential to compete at the highest levels of motorsport.
