High expectations for Porsche not realized at the Sebring 12 Hours
Unlike previous years where Stuttcars have reported on Porsche dominating the 12 hour endurance spectacle, 2023 was a reminder of the “tough luck” side of racing. Porsche was the verge of an improbable result with only 20 minutes remaining in the 2023 12 Hours of Sebring. After spending most the race watching others lead, Matthew Jaminet and Felipe Nasr ran in first and third overall in their respective Porsche 963 GTP cars. The Pfaff Porsche 911 GT3 R was poised to take GTD Pro honors after stamping its authority on the class ahead of Mercedes, Corvette, and Lexus. Trophies and champagne waited in victory lane.
