Unveiled at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 992 Dakar pays tribute to the Porsche 953’s victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally. Based on the Carrera 4 GTS, the 911 Dakar model has been tailored for off-road prowess, featuring enhancements like increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, specialized drive modes, and various weight-saving measures.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is a raised crossover coupe designed specifically for off-road adventures. Its ride height is elevated by 50mm compared to a 911 Carrera with Sport Suspension. Additionally, it includes a standard lift system that raises the front and rear by an additional 30mm, providing similar ride height and ramp-over angles to conventional SUVs.
Equipped with all-terrain Pirelli tires boasting 9mm tread depth and reinforced sidewalls with dual carcass layers, the Dakar is well-equipped for off-road excursions. Powering the Dakar is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo Boxer engine producing 473 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque, driving all four wheels. It also offers multiple driving modes to enhance off-road capability.
