Based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racer, the 911 GT America was built with lightweight aluminum-and-steel composite materials. It featured a fuel safety cell with quick-fill capability, a Cosworth dash display, and a roof rescue opening for emergency situations.
The Porsche 911 GT America was specifically designed for the GT Daytona class of the United Sports Car Racing Series, which debuted in 2014 after the merger of the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series. Power comes from a 470-horsepower, 4.0-liter flat-six racing engine with electronic throttle control, connected to a six-speed sequential transmission.
This rare 2014 Porsche 911 GT America, nicknamed “Lucy,” became the fastest Porsche to tackle the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, completing it in 9:23.721 and securing the second-fastest time overall.
The car was extensively modified by BBi Autosport to produce an impressive 1,100 horsepower. Powered by a 3.8-liter GT3 Cup engine with twin turbos and running on E85 fuel, it was optimized for high altitude performance and endurance racing, including at Daytona.
