Porsche Of The Day: 2005 Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT

Gemballa is well-known for its lavish and high-cost upgrade kits for various supercars, with one of its standout projects being the Mirage GT, based on the Porsche Carrera GT. This rare creation from the respected German tuning company received a range of custom modifications to elevate its performance, aesthetics, aerodynamics, and lightweight build.

The Mirage GT makes extensive use of carbon fiber throughout its body and chassis. The design features a reimagined front bumper with three prominent air intakes, a vented hood, recessed door sections, a roof-mounted air intake, and a carbon-fiber targa roof panel.

At the rear, the car sports a redesigned bumper, side skirts, and a larger rear wing with an electrically adjustable central flap. Performance enhancements include a Gemballa sport clutch and upgraded race-inspired, electronically adjustable coilover suspension.

To further boost power, Gemballa added a custom ram air intake system, a free-flowing stainless-steel exhaust with sports catalytic converters, and an optimized ECU, adding 58 bhp to the Carrera GT’s original 5.7-liter V10 engine.

This increases output to 670 bhp and 630 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 335 km/h. According to Gemballa, only 25 Carrera GTs were transformed into Mirage GTs, making them exceptionally rare.
