The Porsche 911 GT2 Evo represented the top specification ever produced for any air-cooled Porsche. Built to compete in FIA GT1, it featured a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-6 engine delivering 600 HP and 491 lb-ft of torque.
Compared to the standard 993 GT2, Porsche expanded the rear fender flares to accommodate wider modular wheels and added a new front spoiler with ducts for oil and brake cooling. The rear spoiler was also upgraded with a second deck that could be positioned higher for increased downforce.
The car featured here is one of just six 911 GT2 Evolutions built by Roock Racing, using a lightweight and reinforced monocoque chassis supplied by Porsche, making it the lightest 911 GT2 version ever. Roock Racing built this car around a significantly lightened GT2 monocoque chassis from Porsche, extending the roll cage into the fuel cell area for added front-end rigidity.
A twin-plug, six-coil Type-M64/83 engine was installed, with upgraded KKK turbochargers boosting the power to approximately 580 horsepower. The transmission was also reinforced to manage the increased power. All carbon fiber bodywork accommodated a track widened by seven centimeters, with custom Moton dampers handling the higher cornering loads.
