One of the rarest Porsche 930 models was the hand-built 505-option ‘Flachbau’ or slant nose. This special-order Porsche package was inspired by the iconic twin-turbocharged 935 race cars and featured significant aerodynamic upgrades beyond the standard 930.
The modified front end was part of a comprehensive set of enhancements designed to improve airflow and increase top speed. The slant-nose design included flip-up headlights, fender louvers, extended rocker panels, and wider flared rear fenders with vents.
Powered by a 3.3-liter turbocharged version of the air-cooled flat-6 engine, paired with a robust 4-speed manual transmission, the car could accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.0 seconds and had an estimated top speed of 157 MPH.
As the flagship model of the 911 lineup in 1988, the Turbo was well-equipped with features like air conditioning, power windows, power seats, dual electric mirrors, a raised steering wheel hub, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Additional options included Grand Prix White-painted wheels with polished lips and an electric sliding sunroof.
