The 2023 Porsche Macan T brings touring style to the Macan. This new model sits between the base Macan and the midlevel S. Positioned between the base Macan and the midrange Macan S, the Macan T packs the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder found in the entry-level model, delivering 261 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque through a standard seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The German automaker says the powertrain is good for a 5.8-second 0-to-60-mph dash and a top speed of 144 mph. Unsurprisingly, those are the same factory performance estimates as the standard Macan when fitted with the optional Sport Chrono Package that comes standard on this T.

Overview
The Porsche Macan was first seen in November 2013 and went on sale in the United States in 2014 as 2015 model year car. It was going to be called the Cajun originally, but changed the name to Macan before launch. Originally, Porsche launched the Macan S and the Macan Turbo. The second model year, 2016, didn’t bring many changes to the Macan, aside from three-zone climate control becoming standard. But 2017 gave us a new trim, the Porsche Macan GTS, designed to fit between the two launch models with its 3.0 twin-turbo V6 and slightly more boost pressure than the S. It also had standard PASM adaptive suspension paired with air springs. Porsche added a 2.0L in-line 4-cylinder turbo model as the Macan entry point. All models got Porsche's superb seven-speed PDK and electro-mechanical power steering, a double wishbone front suspension and what Porsche calls a “self tracking trapezoidal link” suspension in the rear. All Macans get six-piston front brake calipers and single-piston floating rear clampers. Those calipers are putting the squeeze on 13.8-inch front rotors on the Macan S and 14.2-inchers on the Macan GTS and Turbo. Rear rotors are 13 inches on the S and GTS, while the Turbo gets the bigger 14-inch rear pizzas.
In July 2018, Porsche unveiled a new facelift for the Macan range. The 2019 Porsche Macan update included refreshed exterior styling that includes updated front and rear bumpers, new taillamps that span the width of the liftgate, and new wheel designs. Porsche also gave us another update to for the 2022 model year. While this isn’t a full redesign, the Macan got some notable tweaks to its exterior, interior and mechanicals. Across the 2022 Macan lineup, Porsche gave buyers more powerful engine options compared to 2021 models. Things have stayed the same for the 2023 model year, with very few changes, with the only notable change being that Porsche added a Macan T trim to the lineup which features an adaptive suspension as well as the brand's popular Sport Chrono package, which includes a set of driving modes and a launch-control feature. The Macan T is powered by the base Macan's 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Previous Years: 2022 Porsche Macan Lineup
The Macan might be getting on a bit, but if you want an SUV that drives and feels like a sports car then it's still top of the tree.

Pros
The Porsche Macan is a practical, roomy SUV that’s also quick and fun-to-drive. The interior has also been brought into line with alternatives thanks to 2021 updates.
Cons
The base Macan is not powerful enough. The competition is roomier and more comfortable. Options get expensive given the segment it competes in.
Verdict
Blends a typically Porsche-like driving experience with plenty of practicality and technology. If you want an SUV that drives and feels like a sports car, this is it.
What's New for 2023
Porsche has added a Macan T trim to the lineup which features an adaptive suspension as well as the brand's popular Sport Chrono package, which includes a set of driving modes and a launch-control feature. The Macan T is powered by the base Macan's 261-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine; all-wheel drive is standard just as it is on the rest of the lineup.
Our Pick of the Range
We don't love the base Macan (it isn't powerful enough), so we would skip that altogether. If you need a daily driver and don't need to spend a fortune, then the V-6-powered S is a great choice. Its six-cylinder, 380hp 2.9-litre engine has a tuneful rasp, plenty of torque and performance that’ll keep you happy. If you want more poke, there is the spectacular GTS model.
What's Coming In 2024
The reason we haven't seen many updates for the 2023 Porsche Macan range is because a monumental change is coming as soon as 2024 (although there are rumors it will be delayed till 2025). While the Macan is the top selling Porsche the biggest change to the Macan is going to be the move to electrification. Prototypes for Porsche's electric Macan have been spotted revealing a number of new design elements bound for the production model and Porsche is expected to give us details in the coming months. The electric Macan will be a 2024 model and we bet it is going to be a cracking car and the choice for Porsche urbanites everywhere. The bodywork should be standard Macan fiar, but with a new front and rear facia to differentiate it. The electric powertrain will be new to the Macan lineup, and it will be one of the first models to ride on a new electric platform shared by Porsche and Audi.

Current Porsche Macan Lineup
While this isn’t a full redesign, the Macan got some notable tweaks to its exterior, interior and mechanicals for 2022. Across the 2022 Macan lineup, Porsche is giving buyers more powerful engine options compared to 2021 models. Base models still get a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, but it’s been updated to produce 261 horsepower and 295 pounds-feet of torque — increases of 13 and 22, respectively, over the 2021 version. The 2022 Macan S gets the engine from the 2021 Macan GTS, a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 making 375 hp and 383 pounds-feet. The current range-topping Macan, the GTS, gets the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 from the 2021 Macan Turbo, giving it 434 hp and 406 pounds-feet. The GTS also gets standard Porsche Surface Coated Brakes and an adaptive suspension Porsche says can be up to 15% stiffer than in previous models. The revised models get freshened front styling with new air intakes and body-color bumper trim, along with a new, taller rear diffuser. Along the sides, the side blade design now includes a textured element and Sport Design side mirrors are now standard. A bevy of new wheel choices are available with sizes now ranging from 19 to 21 inches. New for 2023 is the Macan T, a fun and back to basics Macan with some extra performance goodies in the mix.
The AMG GLC 63 sounds cooler while being caned. But as an all-rounder, a car for all tasks and occasions, Porsche’s effort is unsurpassed.
