75th Anniversary

The Stuttgart marque took center stage at this year’s Festival of Speed to pay tribute to the 75th anniversary of Porsche. The iconic Central Feature in front of Goodwood House showcased the evolution of Porsche cars through the ages, with six iconic vehicles arranged on the structure, from the Porsche 356, right through to the current WEC and IMSA 963 model. This was the fourth time in the history of the Festival of Speed, where Porsche had adorned the Central Feature, more than any other manufacturer.

With three grids dedicated to showcasing the successes and history of Porsche, a better selection of machinery from Stuttgart would be hard to imagine. From Le Mans-winning prototypes, through the 1,000,000th 911 to roll off the production line, to the original prototype for the 356 – a storied and celebrated array delighted fans throughout the weekend. With a notable assembly of 911 to toast 60 years of the 911, both the 911 RSR-19 in the hands of Rachel Frey, and the 911 GT3 Cup, piloted by Carrera Cup driver Adam Smalley, both represented well in the highly competitive Hillclimb Shootout, posting times of 54.22 and 47.40 respectively.
