Porsche’s New Classic Center

Porsche opens first Porsche Classic Center in Germany

Together with the Glinicke Group, the sports car manufacturer opened the first Porsche Classic Center in Germany on Friday, 4 April 2025. An extensive offer of restorations, services and spare parts supply for classic Porsche models will start there. The opening strengthens the portfolio of providing customers of modern and classic cars with sustainable support with specialist and individualization expertise.

“Our modern and classic cars are usually treasures in our customers’ garages,” explains Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Individualization and Classic. “That’s why this project is particularly important to us. We are pleased that we are now also expanding our range of services for consulting and support for classic vehicles in our home market of Germany.”

Porsche Classic Center Kassel

The new center with its state-of-the-art showroom and workshop offers not only professional restoration and services, but also the sale of historic models. In addition, the experts draw on a comprehensive range of over 80,000 spare parts for vehicles that have not been produced for more than ten years. This makes it possible to provide holistic support for customers. The Kassel site is the latest member of what are now five competence centers worldwide – the others are located in France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland. In addition, the center complements 19 other Classic Partners in Germany.

Keeping Traditions Alive

“Porsche is more than a brand – it is a symbol of passion, outstanding quality, and the fulfillment of automotive dreams. With the Porsche Classic Centre in Kassel, we are creating a place where the tradition and history of this legendary brand remains alive,” says Florian Glinicke, Managing Partner of Glinicke Automobil Holding. “Our customers benefit from an experienced team that works with dedication and the highest precision.”

The Glinicke Group has held the distribution rights for the Porsche brand for 75 years now. In the premises where wholesale began in the 1950s, the new Porsche Classic Centre has now been built. The showroom concept is unique due to the interplay between the historic halls and modern design elements.

Grand Opening

The opening ceremony was attended by 356 guests – including motorsport legend Walter Röhrl, who thrilled the audience with anecdotes from the world of racing during the panel discussion. In addition, the evening event offered a special look at legendary vehicles such as the Porsche 959, the 918 Spyder and a Porsche 917. A highlight of the celebration was the certificate presentation, which officially distinguished the center as the first of its kind in Germany.

“With the Glinicke Group, we have a strong regional partner. In 2024, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new buildings of the Porsche Centers in Kassel and Minden, which we expect to complete before the end of this year,” says Karsten Sohns, Managing Director and CFO of Porsche Germany. “Now the new Porsche Classic Centre is being added. A valuable addition for all customers, with a radiance far beyond the region. In a personal meeting on site, the classic experts can consult and accompany interested parties on their way to their dream Porsche.”

Parts & Services

In addition to new cars, Porsche offers a comprehensive range of services for classic vehicles, including the supply of spare parts for all road-legal classic cars of the brand. The offer ranges from a wide variety of accessories and technical literature to classic spare parts supply, including numerous new editions that have not been available for a long time.

Not only the Classic Partners and the Classic Centers take care of the restoration, you can also have your vehicle restored in the factory. Around 100 units from the Porsche 356 to the 911 (Type 996) and Boxster (Type 986) pass through the factory annually. Sonderwunsch projects for the realization of highly individual customer wishes complete the portfolio.

The Glinicke Group

The Glinicke Group, a proud sales partner of Porsche in Kassel for 75 years, is continuing its long tradition with the Porsche Classic Centre. The center is a place for expert restorations, a meeting place for the Porsche community, and a venue for events such as the Bergpark race in Kassel. Fabian Hottenrott and Matthias Welter will take over the site management.
