Porsche 918 Spyder Vs MotoGP Bike Drag Race

Not Even Close?

We all know the Porsche 918 Spyder is quick, but is it faster than a MotoGP bike?

As a reminder, the 918 is Porsche’s hybrid hypercar that went into production in 2013. It combined a high revving naturally aspirated V8 coupled to a pair of electric motors to create a hybrid machine capable of mind-bending performance. The 4.7-liter V8 engine was good for 600 horsepower and 398 lb-ft.  The pair of electric motors added 282 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque. That means the total output for the 918 was 875 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque.

The MotoGP bike featured in this race is from the Redbull KTM Factory Racing Team. 2017 was the debut season for the team as it worked its way up the field to fight for podium finishes. In 2020 the Redbull KTM Factory Racing Team secured its first win at the Czech Grand Prix. It has a 1,000cc V4 engine that produces 270 horsepower and revs to an absurd 18,500rpm. The frame is composed of both steel and carbon fiber with a weight of only 157kg.

Let’s see who wins.
