Get ready to add a unique air-cooled 911 from the early 1990s to your Porsche collection as Broad Arrow Auctions will be auctioning a striking 1990 Carrera 4 next month as part of the German marque’s 75th anniversary event.
This is a one-of-a-kind coupe that was once owned by Porsche from 1990 to 1993 and initially registered in Böblingen, a town near Porsche’s Stuttgart base where many historically significant factory-owned Porsches have been registered.
Back in the early days of the Porsche Exclusive Maufaktur workshop, established in 1986, it was much more difficult to obtain a personalized Porsche with custom paint and interior options. This 964-generation example stands out with its sparkling Green Pearlescent Metallic paint, a unique color created exclusively for this car.
Inside, every surface, except for the glossy wood trim on the dashboard, door panels, and floor mats, is adorned with the same rich hue. The power-adjustable seats are covered in matching leather with burgundy inserts. The cabin boasts power windows, air conditioning, and an Exclusive center console featuring a car phone.
Powering the car is an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine paired with a numbers-matching five-speed manual transmission. This potent mill delivers 247 hp and 228 lbs of torque, ensuring a spirited driving experience. Although specific performance numbers were not provided, when this coupe was brand-new, it could sprint from zero to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 162 mph, according to Stutt Cars.
If this has caught your attention, mark your calendar for Broad Arrow’s Porsche anniversary auction on June 10 in Atlanta. This remarkable 911 Carrera 4 will be sold without reserve and is estimated to fetch between $110,000 and $140,000.
