To reach the finish on the ideal line without losing too much time is something Marco Ujhasi completely understands as an active skier. In his prime, the Bavarian was a member of the national ski team and he says it’s his ‘racing gene’ that pushes him every day on the job. “To be able to live and work with this gene on a race car like the 911 RSR is a real blessing,” says the father of two.
He arrived at Porsche in 1999 as a BA student in engineering/vehicle design. After graduating he worked in various areas of vehicle development, for instance on the 918 Spyder. In December 2012, he took on the role as overall project manager for the 911 RSR. Six months later, the car clinched a stunning one-two at Le Mans.
As the project leader for GT works motorsport since 2014, he has been responsible for the development and operational organisation of all race and test programmes – from the initial concept right through to the racetracks.
