Limited Edition 2019 Porsche 935 Heads to Auction

Number 70 of just 77 examples built

To commemorate Porsche’s 70th anniversary in September 2018, the marque revived the revered 935 name with an exclusive track day special. Built on the foundation of the 991.2 911 GT2 RS Clubsport and limited to just 77 units, the new 935 was unrestricted by road regulations, featuring stunning lightweight carbon fiber bodywork inspired by its predecessor.

The car boasted wide box flares, a flat-nose front, and a substantial rear diffuser and wing, reminiscent of Moby Dick. Finished in Agate Grey with Martini stripes, the show car showcased center-lock wheels with brake-cooling turbine discs.

Underneath its carbon skin, the 935 housed a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six derived from the 991.2 platform. Equipped with variable turbine turbochargers, water-spray intake cooling, and direct injection, the engine delivered 700 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a robust 553 ft/lbs of torque from 2,500 to 5,000 rpm, ensuring smooth power delivery.

Power was managed via a 7-speed PDK gearbox, complemented by race-bred adjustable traction control and stability systems. The interior featured GT3R-inspired steering, carbon Recaro seats with harnesses, a comprehensive roll cage, on-board fire suppression, and roof escape hatch.

Adding to the exclusivity, Porsche later offered a range of seven optional tribute liveries, allowing owners to further personalize their 935 including this particular example set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s next month with an estimated value of somewhere between $1,600,000 – $1,800,000 USD.

This Porsche 935, number 70 of just 77 examples built, is finished in Agate Grey Metallic, later wrapped in white and blue with red accents reminiscent of Sachs sponsorship. This particular car boasts a black leatherette-upholstered interior, fan-style wheels, and a surprising perk – incredibly low mileage, suggesting it has barely been driven.

Additionally, the original owner invested in $44,300 worth of accessories. These included a spare set of wheels, an extra Recaro race seat with harness, a replacement front splitter kit, high-performance Brembo brakes, and even a limited-edition Porsche Design titanium watch.
