Whenever Porsche introduces a GT version of one of their vehicles, you can expect them to be really special. But just how impressive are the two top Porsche GT models you can buy today? And how do they stack up against each other? Carwow on YouTube attempts to answer these questions for us by pitting the 911 GT3 against the 718 Cayman GT4 RS in a series of drag races.
It’s important to note that these two cars share the same naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine. Porsche’s 4.0-liter engine generates 510 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque in the GT3. It produces slightly less power in the Cayman, producing 500 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque. Both cars transfer power to their rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Cayman is also 99 lbs lighter than the 911.
So, which of these two Porsche GT models is faster in a straight line race? Will it be the slightly more powerful 911 GT3 or the lighter GT4 RS? Watch the video to find out!
