Like the rest of the lineup, the Porsche 911 Turbo S got a mid-cycle update for the 2017 model year, becoming the 991.2 Turbo S. It got updated styling tweaks, lighting, and aerodynamics, as well as a much-needed, comprehensive infotainment upgrade.
There were also some improvements and gains in both power and efficiency. Chief among these improvements are a special pair of turbochargers with larger impeller blades and a modified housing now specific to the weapons-grade S for the first time.

The car also features a power sunroof, carbon-fiber quarter panel air intakes, quad exhaust outlets, and an optional Turbo Aerokit.
The Turbo S center-lock alloy wheels measure 20 inches and are fitted with Pirelli P Zero tires. Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with yellow-painted Porsche-branded calipers and an optional front-axle lift system handle braking. The Turbo S also has standard rear-axle steering and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDDC).
Inside the vehicle, the heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats are trimmed in black leather and extend to the dashboard and door panels. The interior also features carbon-fiber trim, a backup camera, ParkAssist, Lane Change Assist, Porsche Communication Management, navigation, Apple CarPlay compatibility, a Burmester sound system, cruise control, aluminum pedals, carbon-fiber illuminated door sill guards, Chalk seatbelts, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline, a 225-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The Sport Chrono Package adds a stopwatch atop the dashboard, and the digital odometer shows approximately 3,400 miles.
The 991.2 Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8L flat-six engine with aluminum construction and direct fuel injection. The factory-rated output is 580 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, with the Sport Chrono Package offering an over-boost function that temporarily raises peak torque to 553 lb-ft.
