Unveiled alongside the 992-generation 911 at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 911 GT2 RS Clubsport marked the culmination of the 991 series. It represented a finely honed, track-focused variant of the road-going 911 GT2 RS, positioned as Porsche’s premier GT customer sports car. Packing an impressive 700 horsepower, it stood as the most potent model in its category, built for both track days and official Clubsport events across global circuits.
Central to the Clubsport’s performance is its 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, delivering remarkable power thanks to upgraded components and a specialized cooling system. Shedding around 340 pounds compared to its street-legal sibling, and equipped with substantial rear tires and an imposing rear wing, the GT2 RS Clubsport effectively harnesses its formidable power.
Setting it apart from the road version, the Clubsport boasts a bespoke exhaust system for enhanced performance. Designed alongside other high-performance models at Porsche’s Flacht motorsport facility, its chassis undergoes meticulous refinement on the nearby Weissach test track. With forged suspension links and adjustable dampers, owners can fine-tune the car’s handling to suit different circuits and driving preferences.
One such model is now available for purchase on Bring A Trailer. This particular example is #87 of the 200 track-only Clubsport models produced and one of 44 imported to the US. Originally acquired by its first owner from Porsche Motorsport North America in October 2019, it is currently in the possession of a new owner with 3,300 miles on the odometer.
This 991 GT2 RS Clubsport was initially finished in white, featuring an aluminum-steel composite frame with various carbon-fiber components. Subsequently, it was re-wrapped in black and blue vinyl livery by its current owner.
Included with the car are additional features such as air conditioning, a Cosworth digital instrument cluster, a fire-suppression system, an air-jack system, and 18″ forged BBS alloy wheels, among others. Furthermore, it comes with a Spares Package from the factory, comprising extra wheels, tires, brake components, and spare parts.
While the GT2 RS Clubsport was originally designed for track use, this specific example has been modified to be street-registered under previous ownership and comes with a current Pennsylvania title.
