Offered for sale via auction on Collecting Cars a sensational track-focused performance car, upgraded by legendary Porsche specialist Manthey Racing at a cost of £64,482.
Throughout its production, the Porsche 991.2-generation 911 GT3 RS stood as a pinnacle among driver’s cars. However, for those seeking an even sharper experience, Manthey Racing’s upgrade kit elevated its on-track performance to new heights.
The comprehensive Manthey Racing upgrade for the 991.2 GT3 RS elevates its aerodynamics and suspension while incorporating additional carbon-fiber components. Noteworthy enhancements include carbon-fiber front ‘canards’, a painted carbon-fiber engine deck lid, a carbon-fiber rear wing with custom supports and carbon side plates, as well as carbon-fiber ‘aerodiscs’ for the rear wheels.
The package also includes 20-inch front and 21-inch rear magnesium alloy wheels wrapped in N2-rated Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Upgraded brakes feature Manthey’s braided line set, specific performance brake fluid, and replacement brake pads for both the front and rear. The suspension has been replaced with Manthey Racing’s individually adjustable coilover kit.
This particular 991.2 GT3 RS boasts a white exterior finish, while the original factory interior retains black leather and Alcantara upholstery covering the carbon-fiber bucket seats. Alcantara extends to the door card sections, roof pillars, and headlining, complemented by carbon-fiber accents throughout. Notable equipment includes the front axle lift system, Schroth four-point harnesses, a reversing camera, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Porsche Sports Exhaust, and the Chrono Pack.
Powering this remarkable machine is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, delivering 513bhp to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK transmission with paddle shift. To showcase its exceptional performance, Manthey Racing commissioned Porsche works driver Kévin Estre to demonstrate the capabilities of the upgraded RS at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. A remarkable lap time of 6:49.6 was achieved, or 6:54.3 including the T13 track section, placing it within 10 seconds of its turbocharged counterpart, the record-holding Manthey Racing GT2 RS.
The 991.2-era GT3 RS is an outstanding track-focused supercar, boasting the presence of Manthey Racing’s acclaimed package of aerodynamic, suspension, and braking upgrades. It benefits from a comprehensive service history and is presented in excellent condition. While the standard GT3 RS is already an exceptional performance car, the addition of Manthey Racing’s kit transforms it into a better and more capable supercar.
