This 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe was originally distributed by Mizwa Porsche of Japan and came from the factory with a rare Murano Green color, sunroof delete, and a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. A previous owner in Japan gave the car a custom RSR-style restoration which included backdated bodywork, widened fenders, a ducktail spoiler, new coilovers, and an RS-inspired interior with Recaro bucket seats. The engine also received upgrades, including a custom exhaust, lightweight flywheel, performance chip, and limited-slip differential.
During the restoration, the car was fitted with a backdated long-hood nose section, widened fenders, rocker panels, RSR-style bumpers, and a ducktail rear spoiler. The car was refinished in its original Murano Green color and features custom aero mirrors, hood straps, RS-style rear lettering, a polished custom dual-exit muffler, and 3-piece Work Brombacher wheels with freshly polished lips and Bridgestone RE71 tires.
The black interior has been fitted with two-tone Recaro SR3 bucket seats, red seatbelts, a Sabelt safety harness, RS-style door panels, and a 3-spoke MOMO steering wheel. An aftermarket stereo is equipped, and additional speakers are located on the dashboard. The rear seats have been removed, but the A/C and power windows remain functional.
Power is sourced from an air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine rated at 247 HP from the factory. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed G50 manual gearbox and limited slip differential. Previous upgrades, including a custom exhaust with headers, an engine performance chip, a lightweight flywheel, and Aragosta adjustable coilover suspension, are said to enhance the car’s performance.
This unique 964 Carrera 2 is a dream for air-cooled Porsche enthusiasts and is now being auctioned by its Florida-based seller. The odometer shows approximately 70k kilometers or 43k miles. See the official listing here.
