DRAG RACE: Porsche 911 Turbo S vs Tesla Model X Plaid

Carwow organized a drag race video which features a Porsche 911 Turbo S, once again defending the reputation of the internal combustion engine, as it competes against the Tesla Model X Plaid, known for its exceptional acceleration that surpasses most rivals on a straight road.

The $230,000 Porsche 911 Turbo S boasts heritage, style, and German engineering. It is powered by a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine generating 640 hp / 590 lb-ft, which is channeled to all four wheels through an 8-speed DCT transmission. Weighing 3,636 lbs, it is significantly lighter than the Model X.

On the other hand, the Tesla Model X Plaid is far more powerful, featuring a triple-motor setup with one front and two rear motors, producing 1,020 hp and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque. However, the SUV’s weight is its disadvantage, as it comes in at 5,432 lbs (2,464 kg), much heavier than its two-door competitor.

With a substantial difference in power and weight between the two vehicles, which one do you think will come out as the winner? Watch the video to find out!
