DRAG RACE: Porsche 911 GT2 RS vs Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

Porsche and Mercedes-AMG have been engaged in a captivating rivalry over the past few years, each striving to create the ultimate well-rounded sports car capable of conquering the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

We now have the opportunity to witness these two contenders face off on a drag strip, courtesy of Daniel Abt’s video. But before that, let’s take a look at how these two cars compare on papers.

First off is the GT2 RS, widely acclaimed as one of Porsche’s greatest creations. It boasts an impressive 700 horsepower at your command, complemented by a formidable 553 lb-ft of torque. As a result, it achieves a lightning-fast 0-62 mph sprint in just 2.7 seconds. The GT2 RS also showcases its dedication to a race car experience through its lightweight construction, weighing a mere 3,240 lbs.

On the other side, the AMG presents itself with a notable 720 horsepower and a robust 590 lb-ft of torque, enabling it to reach 60 mph from a standstill in a commendable 3.2 seconds. Although slightly heavier at 3,584 lbs, the AMG may attribute this to a longer wheelbase and a relatively less stripped-down interior.
