Chris Harris Reviews the New Hybrid Porsche 911

The legendary Porsche 911 has gotten a dramatic makeover with the introduction of the 992.2 Carrera GTS, now equipped with an advanced hybrid powertrain. At the heart of the new Carrera GTS is a cutting-edge hybrid system combining a 3.6L engine with an electric turbocharger, delivering 534 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque.

This innovative setup nearly eliminates turbo lag, replicating the feel of a high-capacity, naturally aspirated engine. It allows the new GTS to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3 seconds, rivaling the McLaren Artura and falling only 0.1 seconds shy of the Ferrari 296 GTB. Its top speed reaches an impressive 193 mph.

As Porsche ventures into new territory, will they still be able to impress purists with a hybrid 911 that weighs nearly 1,600 kg? Chris Harris will answer that question for us as he takes it for a drive and reveal that there’s more to this car than its weight and the hybrid powertrain.
