Singer Vehicle Design – Charlottesville Commission
Today, we take a closer look at the Singer Vehicle Designs Charlottesville Commission. At the heart of the Charlottesville Commission is the awesome 4.0L, naturally-aspirated, air-cooled flat-six that powers most of the Singer cars. For this car, the owner has specified a 6-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel-drive, which we haven’t seen much (most are rear wheel drive).
The carbon-fiber bodywork is presented in Fish Silver with nickel touring trim for the rear bumper, together with ghosted stripes and black lettering. The engine itself is presented with a ceramic plenum finish. Externally, the carbon-fiber rear engine cover features raised black ceramic lettering and a discrete ‘inverse’ 4.0L badge. This 4.0L AWD coupe is specified with the carbon ceramic braking system and features calipers finished in champagne gold, with black lettering. The side-mounted, external oil filler is selected, together with the central, external fuel filler.
Inside, the main gauges are presented in black with green markings and navy leather-weave is used for the dash strip. Lightweight, carbon fiber track seats are specified with leather weave inserts and nickel grommets. The sills, transmission tunnel and rear compartment are also trimmed in leather, with black cabin stitching. The interior is presented in Navy with leatherweave inserts.
