1960 Porsche 356B 1600 GS Carrera GT
Ultra-rare 4-cam 356 spotlighted
In model year 1960, the 356 A was replaced by the completely redesigned Porsche 356 B (T5). Its power spectrum ranged from 60 hp in the 356 B 1600 to 140 hp in the 356 B 2000 GS-GT Carrera 2. Produced between 1959 and 1963, this generation was introduced with the T5 Body, which received a myriad of cosmetic changes from the Porsche 356 A generation, and was produced up until late 1961, when the T6 Body was introduced, featuring a whole new set of significant technical and mechanical updates. The 356 B was available as a Coupe, Notchback Coupe, Cabriolet or Roadster. The 356 B saw the engine offering updated as well: 1600 Normal (or Base Model) with 60 HP, 1600 S (or Super) with 75 HP, Super 90 with 90 HP, and the most powerful Carrera. The transmission was also completely updated (to the 741 type), the brake system was improved, and other minor but significant mechanical and structural changes were made during the Porsche 356 B generation.
