Porsche is undeniably one of the most successful car manufacturers in history, excelling in sports car and prototype racing while creating some of the world’s most iconic vehicles. Enthusiasts everywhere have their favorite Porsche, and collections often feature a diverse range of the brand’s models.
Although Porsche has rarely ventured into the supercar arena, their entries have been groundbreaking. The 1970s saw the dominance of the 911 Carrera RS, while the 1980s brought the revolutionary, turbocharged 959. In the early 2000s, the Carrera GT stunned with its Formula 1-inspired V10 engine, cementing its place as an engineering marvel.
After the Carrera GT, Porsche’s return to the supercar spotlight came with the 918 Spyder, unveiled in 2010. Powered by a hybrid system combining a 4.6L V8 and two electric motors, it delivered 887 horsepower, a 2.2-second 0-60 mph time, making it the fastest accelerating production car in the world at the time.
Only 918 units of the Porsche 918 Spyder were made with 297 of them delivered for the US market including this particular example, with serial number 067, scheduled cross the hammer at RM Sotheby’s upcoming auction on November 22 and with an estimated value of somewhere between $3,000,000 – $3,500,000.
This 2015 Porsche 918 ‘Weissach’ Spyder has extremely low mileage and an array of desirable options. It features a sophisticated GT Silver Metallic exterior paired with a Garnet Red leather interior accented by silver piping and exposed carbon fiber—an elegant and striking combination.
Equipped with sought-after options, the Spyder includes a front axle lift system, glare-reducing interior package, stone guard, dual-zone automatic climate control, HomeLink system, leather-trimmed multifunction sport steering wheel, Burmester high-fidelity surround sound system, storage compartment, and a 25-foot charging cable.
Originally sold by Bellevue Porsche in January 2015, the car later moved to California in 2018 under its second owner. It is currently under its third owner who continues to take great care of it and now shows just 170 miles on its odometer.
