A recent video from Outlaw Garage on YouTube dives into an exceptionally rare gem: the ultra-limited RUF BTR2. This particular BTR2 is one of just 18 ever produced and is even more unique as one of only five right-hand-drive models. Originally delivered in striking Riviera Blue to a buyer in Singapore, the car later moved to New Zealand since Australian customs at that time didn’t have a specific category for RUF vehicles.
In 1993, with no factory turbocharged 911 available, RUF created the BTR2 to satisfy customers’ demand for a turbo option. This model packs a powerful 420-horsepower engine, reaching a top speed of 307 km/h (around 190 mph) and sprinting from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
Engine modifications include new pistons, camshafts, injectors, and a remapped Bosch Motronic CPU, working with a K27 turbo pushing 11.6 PSI of boost. The car also features classic RUF styling, including signature five-spoke wheels sized 18×8.5 inches in the front and 18×10 inches at the back. Additionally, custom front and rear bumpers were added to enhance its distinct RUF identity.
