Ultra-Rare 1992 Porsche 964 Turbo S Leichtbau Up For Grabs

One of only 86 examples built by Porsche

In 1992, Porsche introduced the limited-edition 964 Turbo S Leichtbau, designed to be lighter and more powerful than the standard Turbo. Initially, 25–50 units were planned, later increased to 80, with final production totaling 86. The upgraded engine delivered 381bhp, thanks to revised camshafts, intake ducts, increased boost pressure, and optimized ignition and fuel injection.

The Turbo S stands apart from the standard 964 Turbo through extensive weight-saving measures, including carbon fiber-reinforced rear decklid and luggage compartment cover, front brake cooling ducts replacing fog lights, rear quarter panel air scoops, a body-colored whale tail spoiler, lightweight glass, red brake calipers, and 18” Speedline three-piece wheels.

This Speed Yellow example, listed on PCARMARKET, is one of only 86 Turbo S Leichtbau units ever produced. First delivered to a private owner in Germany, it later passed through two French owners and received a service from a marque specialist in February 2025.

The interior is stripped of comfort features like air conditioning, airbags, sound insulation, and rear seats—much like the Carrera RS. It sports fixed-back Recaro bucket seats in black leather with yellow and grey inserts, yellow seatbelts, and a three-spoke leather steering wheel. A Becker Mexico stereo and basic heater are the only luxuries.

Power comes from a 3.3L M30/69 flat-six engine with upgraded cams, intake runners, ignition, and fuel systems, producing 380 HP and 361 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 5-speed manual, lightweight flywheel, limited-slip differential, and M030 Sport Suspension for sharper handling and braking.
