Ruf has always been known for high-quality performance builds, and this RCT Evo offered for sale on Bring A Trailer is no exception. The car started its life as a factory Porsche Carrera 2. This blueprinted Ruf began as a 964 model, making it an even more desirable edition.
After the legendary Ruf Yellowbird stunned the automotive world in 1987 with its 211-mph top speed, Ruf cemented itself as the premier Porsche tuner, delivering enhanced versions of Zuffenhausen’s finest. When the 964-generation 911 debuted in 1989, it became the perfect foundation for Ruf’s RCT, which boosted output by 110 horsepower and introduced an adjustable suspension setup. The RCT’s success led Ruf to continue evolving the concept, culminating in today’s RCT Evo conversions.
Originally registered in the United States, this 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe was later exported to Canada, where it underwent a transformation at RUF Automobile in Victoria, British Columbia, in 2024. Following its conversion to RCT Evo specification, the car was purchased by the selling dealer and re-imported back to the U.S.
It boasts a turbocharged and intercooled 3.6-liter flat-six, equipped with Bosch Motronic engine management. Ruf has rated the RCT Evo at 425 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, allowing for a top speed of 198 mph. Power is delivered to all four wheels through a RUF five-speed manual transaxle, and the car benefits from Bilstein adjustable coilovers, anti-lock disc brakes, and a Ruf exhaust system.
Finished in Linden Green, the exterior features a lightweight aluminum hood and doors, 18-inch RUF wheels, a fixed rear spoiler, fog lamps, headlight washers, and blue-tinted reverse lights. Inside, the refreshed interior features tan leather bucket seats, a black leather dashboard, and RUF-branded door sills. The three-spoke RUF steering wheel, short shifter, and drilled aluminum pedals enhance the driver-focused experience.
This 964-based RUF RCT Evo is a rare blend of classic Porsche engineering and high-performance Ruf enhancements, making it an exceptional modernized air-cooled 911 with a legendary pedigree.
