Reimagined Porsche 911 by Singer Live on BaT

Dubbed as the “Step On It Commission”

Founded in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, the former frontman of the band Catherine Wheel, Singer Vehicle Design has built a reputation for transforming Porsche 964-series 911s into bespoke works of art. Based in Los Angeles, the company specializes in blending modern performance with timeless aesthetics, as seen in their “Step On It Commission,” currently offered for sale on Bring A Trailer with only 68 miles on the odometer.

The project began with a 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2, stripped to its steel unibody and reinforced through precision welding. Carbon-fiber panels, including the fenders, hood, bumpers, and rear decklid, replace the originals, while non-sunroof coupes like this one receive a carbon-fiber roof. Additional elements like the front spoiler, rear valance, and rocker panels are crafted from textured black urethane.

The car is painted in custom blue with ghosted side stripes and Rosso Mugello “Porsche” lettering. Exterior highlights include body-colored bumperettes, a brass Singer badge, bi-xenon headlights, and nickel-plated brightwork. Fuchs-style forged aluminum wheels with Rosso Mugello accents are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic rotors paired with black Brembo calipers featuring Rosso Mugello script.

The interior features Monticello leather, woven inserts, and blue accents on carbon bucket seats. Matching woven leather extends to the door panels, rear seats, and dashboard. Details like body-colored seatbacks, a brass dash badge, and red square-weave carpeting elevate the design. Modern amenities include air conditioning, power windows, and a Porsche Classic navigation system.

Powering this reimagined 911 is an air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six engine, producing 390 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to rear wheels through a Getrag G50 six-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential transaxle.
