Porsche Of The Day: 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet

The 911 GTS Cabriolet feels so quick out on the road. In fact, this 992-generation GTS produces nearly the same power as the 997-generation 911 Turbo, with the same 0-60 mph time as the Turbo S from that generation. The 911 Carrera GTS has become so good lately, it almost feels unnecessary to upgrade to the bonkers Turbo model.

The 992 is the third generation of the 911 to carry the GTS badge, and while it now comes with twin turbochargers, it continues to be the sportiest of the “standard” 911 lineup—positioned just below the exclusive Turbo, GT, and RS models and other limited editions.

Despite its subtle styling, it boasts high-end specs, with suspension, brakes, and alloy wheels derived from the 911 Turbo. The most distinctive exterior details are the dark accents, including GTS badging, engine cover louvres, spoiler lip, and center-lock alloy wheels.

The GTS also stands out with uniquely designed bumpers and side sills from the Sport Design pack available on other 911 variants. LED headlights with darkened surrounds and PDLS Plus, along with updated rear lights, add to its look. Inside, it features 18-way electric Adaptive Sports Seats Plus and Race Tex on the armrests and door handles, plus a thicker-rimmed steering wheel.

The Sport Chrono package with mode switch is standard, and the infotainment system is Porsche’s latest PCM 6.0, supporting both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Powering the GTS is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine that delivers 480 hp and 570 Nm of torque to the rear wheels via an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
