Singer Vehicle Design, based in California, is known for its meticulous restoration of air-cooled Porsche 911s, particularly those of the 964 generation. Established in 2009, Singer’s restorations blends elements from the 1960s through the 1990s into each bespoke creation.
Singer’s Classic restoration service offers Porsche owners the opportunity to transform their cars with rear- or all-wheel drive, various transmission options, and high-performance engines. Each vehicle is disassembled, retaining only the original chassis, which is reinforced and fitted with carbon-fiber body panels for weight reduction. The level of customization is nearly limitless, ensuring that every car is a unique expression of its owner’s vision.
One notable example is the “Denmark Commission,” a Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer and is scheduled to roll across the auction block with RM Sotheby’s this weekend with an estimated value of $900,000 – $1,200,000 USD.
Finished in Rome Red Metallic, this car reflects the rich heritage of the 911 while incorporating exotic design elements. It features a 350-horsepower, 3.8-liter flat-six engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and advanced chassis upgrades. The interior is equally impressive, with black woven leather/suede upholstery, a high-end audio system, and a modern air conditioning system.
Its current owner, who purchased it in 2023, has maintained it with care, including an oil change and new Michelin tires. The Denmark Commission, with 5,900 km (3,667 miles) on the odometer, exemplifies Singer’s legendary craftsmanship, making it highly sought after by Porsche collectors, racecar drivers, and celebrities alike.
