Porsche Of The Day: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3

The GT3’s essence has always been that of a race car with just enough equipment to be street legal. For Porsche enthusiasts, the GT3 offers the most authentic driving experience. The 2010 Porsche 911 GT3, known internally as the 997.2, holds a special place in the model’s history.

Significantly improved over the 997.1, the 997.2 GT3 is often seen as more desirable than its successor, the 991 GT3. The 2010 version introduced an upgraded engine, increasing displacement from 3.6 to 3.8 liters, allowing for remarkable performance with a top speed of 193 MPH and a 0-60 MPH time of under 4 seconds.

It also featured a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, sourced directly from Porsche’s motorsports division. In contrast, the 991 GT3, its successor, was equipped solely with a PDK automatic transmission. As a result, the 2010 911 GT3 is highly sought after for its advanced yet manual drivetrain.
