In 2007, German automaker Ruf unveiled the CTR3, a car widely regarded as their crowning achievement. Unlike previous models based on the Porsche 911, the CTR3 boasted a unique platform co-developed by Ruf and Canadian motorsport specialists Multimatic, known for their work on the Ford GT.
While retaining a Porsche-esque silhouette, the CTR3 was noticeably wider and lower. The interior offered a driver-focused environment with snug leather-wrapped carbon fiber bucket seats. Power came from a Ruf-developed 3.7-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, churning out a mighty 691 horsepower channeled to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox.
In 2012, Ruf introduced the even more aggressive CTR3 Clubsport at the Geneva Motor Show. This iteration sported a fixed carbon rear wing, flared wheel arches, and an upgraded engine pushing a staggering 777 horsepower and 723lb-ft of torque. For enhanced performance, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission was offered as an option.
Despite its track-oriented nature, the Clubsport retained the signature Porsche driving ease, even featuring a front-axle lift system for added practicality. Only around 30 CTR3s were produced by RUF and only 7 of them were in Clubsport specification.
