Introduced in 1966 to enhance the performance capabilities of the already successful 911, the 911 S boasted a more powerful engine and several chassis improvements, making it highly coveted. The 1966 2.0 S was the first high performance 911 variant and it came just two years after the first 911 was sold to customers.
Distinguished by its stylish Fuchs five-spoked alloy wheels, the ‘S’ model featured a extensively modified engine delivering 160bhp, resulting in a top speed increase of 16km/h to 217km/h. The wheelbase was extended in 1969, and in 1970, the engine underwent the first of several enlargements, reaching 2.2 liters.
This 1967 Porsche 911 S coupe was actively involved in SCCA, CVAR, and PCA events during the 1990s and 2000s before it was modified for street use in 2023. Finished in silver with Martini-style livery over black upholstery, the car is propelled by a 2.0-liter flat-six engine paired with a rebuilt five-speed manual transaxle.
