The 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic pays homage to the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 from the early 1970s with its distinctive and purposeful ducktail spoiler. Production is limited to 1,250 units worldwide, making it a coveted driver’s car.
Based on the 911 Turbo S, it features a wide-body design and is uniquely available with a seven-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. Its engine, a 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six, delivers 543 hp and 442 lb.-ft. of torque, with revised engine mapping to suit the manual transmission.
As the Sport Classic builds upon the 911 Turbo S, it inherits a comprehensive array of high-performance equipment. This includes Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) with black calipers, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Rear Axle Steering, the Sport Chrono Package, and a specially modified Sport Exhaust system as standard.
Additionally, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) Sport is standard and lowers the ride height by 10 millimeters. Given its rear-wheel drive configuration, the front axle spring rates are slightly reduced compared to the all-wheel drive 911 Turbo S.
The interior package features style-defining elements, such as the two-tone Black/Classic Cognac (semi-aniline leather) and houndstooth fabric seats and door mirrors, reminiscent of the 911 Sport Classic. The classic layout of the cockpit dials and the historic Porsche crest are also included.
The most notable design elements are visible at the rear of the car, where the wider rear fenders of the 911 Turbo gain added visual emphasis. Unlike the 911 Turbo, the 911 Sport Classic lacks air intakes on these panels, creating a large, smooth surface and a clean appearance.
