FOR SALE: 2006 Gemballa Mirage GT

Gemballa has gained a reputation for its extravagant and expensive upgrade kits for various supercars, and one of its most famous creations is the Mirage GT based on the Porsche Carrera GT. This exclusive vehicle, produced by the esteemed German manufacturer and tuning company, underwent a series of bespoke modifications to enhance its performance, aesthetics, aerodynamics, and weight-saving capabilities.

The Mirage GT boasts an extensive use of carbon-fiber in both the bodywork and chassis. Its design includes a reimagined front bumper with three large air intakes, a vented bonnet, recessed door elements, a roof-mounted air intake, and a carbon-fiber targa roof panel. The rear features a redesigned fascia and side skirts, along with a larger rear wing that incorporates an electrically operated center flap. The car’s performance has also been upgraded with a Gemballa sport clutch and an uprated race-style electrically adjustable coilover suspension.

According to Gemballa, just 25 Carrera GTs were ever converted to Mirage GTs, making them an extremely rare commodity. Fortunately, one of them is currently up for auction on Collecting Cars.

This particular Mirage GT boasts a menacing matte-black exterior adorned with striking yellow ‘Mirage GT’ decals. The car sits on staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Gemballa lightweight forged split-rim center-lock alloy wheels finished in matte-black. These wheels house yellow Gemballa-branded Brembo brake calipers gripping carbon-ceramic discs and are fitted with Michelin Super Sport tires.

Inside, the Mirage GT’s interior has been fully retrimmed with black and red diamond-quilted Alcantara and leather, complemented by white diamond-quilted Alcantara door card inserts, embroidered Gemballa emblems on the headrests, and carbon-fiber trim. Carbon-fiber door sills with green ‘Mirage GT’ lettering add an additional touch of uniqueness. The Mirage GT comes equipped with climate control, an electronic suspension lift system, switchable traction control, red dials, and a built-in media system.

Power is derived from a race-bred naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10 engine, capable of delivering up to 645hp / 654PS to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

Having had three owners and traveled 9,302 km (5780 miles) since its creation, this Gemballa Mirage GT stands as an awe-inspiring testament to the rarity and extensive modifications applied to the Porsche Carrera GT, resulting in a truly remarkable supercar.
