Production Information For Classic Porsches Now Online

Production information about the origin of a classic Porsche is a very important part of owning and restoring a classic Porsche. When it was built, how it was equipped, and the location of its first delivery are very important details in a classic Porsche’s history that its current owner needs to know. Using its collection and storage of history documents of classic Porsches, they are able to provide many pieces of original production information on its vehicles that spans decades. For the first time, these documents can now be accessed online. One portal will be opened so that these specific documents will be available to enthusiasts and owners.

Through the recently launched Porsche Vehicle Documentation website, users will now be able to request a Porsche Production Specification (PPS) using either their mobile device or their computer by providing the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Users can also learn more about ordering a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate (CTC), and other documentation options that are provided by Porsche and the national dealer network.

Two very useful documents that helps enhance the Porsche customer journey are the Production Specification and Classic Technical Certificate, and each document have key differences between them. Information contained in the PPS are the vehicle’s original production card specifications, which includes optional equipment, exterior and interior color, production completion date, engine and transmission type, and even the manufacturer’s suggested retail price if available. The document is available for all Porsche VINs though it can only be ordered online through the Porsche vehicle documentation link.

The CTC has additional information like the inspection by a Porsche technical expert at a qualified dealership. The inspection provides a lot more detail about the car like determining if original parts may have been replaced. It can also confirm and verify if the engine and transmission numbers that are currently in the vehicles match the original records. The CTC enables the owner to fully understand their classic Porsche by giving the technical specifications of the car as well as an expert opinion from a Porsche-certified Classic Technician.

Included in the CTC technical evaluation are the inspection results for the exterior and interior, underbody and suspension, drive system, and professional photos of the vehicle exterior and interior, as well as detailed summary of the Porsche vehicle’s inspection. All these are wrapped in a gorgeous package that is worthy of being displayed in future meet-ups.

Whether one is simply getting ready to start a complete restoration project or just interested in knowing the complete history of their beloved sports car, Vehicle Documentation can help provide the information needed.
