This rare European model 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa currently available for auction on Bring A Trailer was imported to the US in 1985. It is said to remain under the ownership of a single family. This is a handsome and well cared-for example of the open-top modern classic sports car, finished in Grand Prix White and comes equipped with a a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a 915 five-speed manual transaxle.
The car features a Grand Prix White paintwork and sports a black removable Targa roof panel, 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels mounted on Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires, front and rear spoilers, integrated fog lights, H4 headlights, and heated and power-adjustable mirrors.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather and comes with air conditioning, power windows, and an Alpine CD stereo. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level.
The 3.2 L aircooled flat 6 engine sends power to the rear wheels via a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Despite its age and having traveled over 86k miles since new, the car still drives beautifully as you can see from the video below.
This car is truly an undisputed icon and a legend in its own time. It’s also one that you can’t afford to miss as it is now being offered for sale on Bring A Trailer and will come with complete documentation that includes owner’s manual, import documents, service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
