Current Porsche Panamera 4S – Ultimate Guide
The Panamera 4 is the first model in the Panamera lineup to feature all-wheel-drive (evidenced by the ‘4’ badging). A few steps above sits the Panamera 4S, a sedan that offers more oomph in performance. After all, that is why Porsche added the ‘S’ for ‘Sport’ to the name. It all starts with the engine. The twin-turbocharged V6 has been upgraded and now puts out 443 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. That’s a significant increase from the 325 hp and 331 lb-ft of torque offered in the base Panamera 4.
That power bump translates to a quicker turn of speed. The 4S is able to hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds, almost a full second ahead of the Panamera 4. It’s not just about the engine power. In 2021, Porsche refreshed the 4S with a recalibrated electrically assisted steering system and standard air springs for better handling.
Of course, you can opt for the Sport Package, which makes the 4,550-pound sedan even more agile. That upgrade includes add-ons like the rear-axle steering, sports exhaust, launch control, and the Sport Plus drive mode.
Pricewise, the 4S slots in somewhere between the base Panamera and the potent GTS. It does a great job of striking a balance between sport and luxury and can, therefore, attract its own customer base from the broader Panamera market.
