Ernst Fuhrmann – the inspiration behind the 911 Turbo
Ernst Fuhrmann is probably best remembered for designing the 4-cam 4-cylinder Carrera engine that powered so many race victories in the 1950s and 1960s. Some readers pointed out that he nearly culled the 911 in 1980, but he was also a very strong proponent of motor racing, so we do have a lot to thank him for.
