One of the most exclusive air-cooled 911 Turbos ever built, this 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo S is among just 183 examples produced for North America. Even more remarkably, it is one of only three finished in Viola Metallic, making it a true collector’s piece.
As the final air-cooled 911 Turbo, the 993-generation Turbo S introduced cutting-edge advancements, many derived from the legendary Porsche 959. Powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six, it produces 424 horsepower and sends power to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. This gives the car a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 184 mph.
This Turbo S features a Porsche Exclusive-configured interior, upholstered in Rubicon Grey special leather with Speed Yellow stitching and seatbelts, complemented by carbon fiber trim. It also boasts heated, power-adjustable racing-style seats, a Digital Sound Package, Litronic headlights, and 18-inch hollow-spoke alloy wheels.
With only 26,000 miles, this exceptionally rare Viola Metallic 1997 Turbo S will be offered by RM Sotheby’s in late March which could fetch up to $700,000 at the auction.
